About This Position
Position Description: Syndeo Outsourcing is seeking a Benefits Assistant for our growing HR Outsourcing company in Wichita, KS. At Syndeo, the benefits team supports companies and their employees, primarily through the daunting task of navigating benefit choices. This team provides customized benefits administration of medical, dental, vision, group term life, long-term disability, short-term disability, flexible spending accounts (FSAs), health saving accounts (HSAs), and 401k options through multiple providers. If you like guiding people step by step through new situations and simplifying complex decisions, the Syndeo benefits team has a place for you!

Job responsibilities include:
Assist the Director of Benefits and benefits staff with administrative tasks and projects.
Process benefit paperwork for benefit eligible employees to include new enrollments, qualifying event changes and terminations of coverage.
Work closely with insurance carriers and clients in order to enroll, change, or terminate benefit coverages with carriers and within internal systems.
Accurately set up and verify payroll deductions for all employees enrolled in benefits.
Create and maintain appropriate client documentation in order to track, monitor, and administer a wide array of benefit plans among various clients.
Communicate with clients and employees regarding basic to moderate benefit questions and inquiries.
Update internal departments on important changes related to client benefits.
Handle various benefit mailings including COBRA, employee benefit packets, insurance cards, etc.
Assist in preparation of annual open enrollments.
Generate eligibility reports and track the return of enrollments and waivers.
Process other department reports as requested.
Scan, index and file benefit-related documents in internal electronic filing system.
Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualifications:
High school or equivalent; Some college work preferred.
Knowledge in administrative processes and procedures.
Organized, reliable, and attentive to details with a high level of accuracy
Professional office experience preferred
Proficiency in MS Office programs
Strong multi-tasking ability
