Medical Assistant (Full-Time)
Arthritis Consultants of Tidewater
Arthritis Consultants of Tidewater is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be organized, proactive, and committed to delivering high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment.
The Medical Assistant will support providers in delivering exceptional patient care by performing both clinical and administrative duties. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining a patient-centered approach.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Room Patient for office visits
- Check and record vital signs
- Obtain and document detailed medical histories
- Verify and reconcile medications and allergies
- Prepare providers for procedures, including joint injections and aspirations
- Maintain exam rooms to ensure they are clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Prepare for upcoming visits by obtaining necessary labs, medical records, and diagnostic results
- Communicate effectively with patients via telephone and patient portal
- Respond to patient inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Assist with coordination of care as needed

Qualifications & Requirements
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Experience in a medical office setting, preferably in a specialty or rheumatology practice
- Experience with Electronic Health Record systems, NextGen is a plus
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Professional demeanor and strong commitment to patient confidentiality
