Job Description
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Admissions Assistant provides administrative, computer, and clerical support to the Admissions Office.
PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.
2. *Maintains prospective student files (computer and hard copy) from inquiry to enrollment.
3. *Coordinates and prepares all written and digital correspondence with prospective students, including management of computer-driven recruitment plans.
4. Prepares applicant files for committee review.
5. *Tracks prospective student progress from inquiry to application to enrollment; prepares reports as needed.
6. *Provides phone, e-mail, and web-based coverage for the Admissions Office.
7. Inventories and maintains supplies of informational materials, forms, and packets; coordinates bulk mailings.
8. Sorts and routes incoming mail; delivers out-going mail.
9. *Supervises Admissions Office student assistants.
10. *Communicates and cooperates with all levels of personnel, prospective students, current students, auxiliary, and ancillary departments.
11. Assists in the coordination of events, including marketing.
12. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Knowledge of general office procedures and standard clerical techniques.
2. Skill in the operating of a personal computer and general office equipment.
3. Skill in utilization of spreadsheet and word processing software.
4. Ability to exercise courtesy, tact, and professionalism in receiving office callers and visitors.
5. Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
6. Ability to organize and maintain filing systems.
7. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision.
8. Ability to maintain confidentiality relative to sensitive information.
9. Ability to compose and maintain correspondence, memorandums, and routine letters.
10. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
11. Ability to maintain accurate logs and reports.
12. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree required. Completion of two (2) year business school training program with computer training preferred. Minimum two (2) years’ experience in an administrative support role required. Prior experience in a comparable position preferred.
