Environmental Health and Safety Coord in Phoenix, Arizona at Valleywise Health System

Under the direction of the Director of Environmental Health and Safety, the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator assists with all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety Program for the entire Valleywise Health system. This position helps implement system-wide environmental health and safety programs including OSHA Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) and DNV continued compliance. Assists in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining a variety of health, safety, and environmental programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees, visitors, and patients. Annual Salary Range: $56,160.00 - $82,846.40 Qualifications Education:

• Requires a bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.

Experience:

• Must have a minimum of two years (2) years of progressively responsible environmental safety experience with progressive responsibility within a healthcare organization that demonstrates a high level of understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Preferred experience of the OSHA VPP program as it relates to the healthcare setting.

Specialized Training:

• Must have knowledge of OSHA and DNV regulations and demonstrate knowledge of environmental safety training.

Certification/Licensure:

• Preferred OSHA 10-hour and/or 30-hour certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Requires demonstrated background and experience in hospital environmental safety programs.
• Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to solve problems.
• Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
