About This Position

Night Crew Leader

Generally, Night Crew Leaders must perform and be responsible for:
Customer service
Quality con,trol
Cost control
Suggestive selling and other sales techniques
Frequent heavy lifting of objects weighing various amounts, including objects weighing up to approximately 55 pounds
Long standing, rapid walking and frequent bending, stooping, twisting and turning
Stocking, stacking, pricing, marking, facing, case cutting and product warehousing and storage
Prevention of shrink or damage or spoilage of product
Safety, security and sanitation
Compliance with Company, division and store policies
Compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Being available to work, or at work, during the times required
Fully and properly complete job assignments
Training
Discard outdated or spoiled product
Rotation of product
Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks

And more specifically:
Counts the total number of grocery department cases which arrive at the store and is responsible for verification that the actual number of cases received match the number on the invoice
Checks all grocery cases to determine whether they are properly labeled (i.e., a case labeled tuna fish does not contain another product such as mayonnaise)
The overall operation of the store including supervision of all employees, in the absence of the store director, assistant store director, third person, fourth person and fifth person
Price changes and implementation of procedures for changing prices in non­ scanner stores
Effectively recommend personnel action such as discipline and termination
Some ordering of grocery items and inventory control
Repair of damaged product, pricing of damaged product and the offering for sale of such product. If product is damaged beyond repair then the night crew leader is responsible for that product being discarded or returned to the appropriate vendor
Some checking
Other necessary or required duties


An applicant must generally have an aptitude for management and experience in stocking, merchandising, pricing, stacking, facing and product warehousing and storage-prior to being as­ signed to the night crew leader position.

Generally, Receiving Clerks must perform and be responsible for:
Customer service
Quality control
Cost control
Suggestive selling and other sales techniques

Frequent heavy lifting of objects weighing various amounts, including objects weighing up to approximately 55 pounds

Long standing, rapid walking and frequent bending, stooping, twisting and turning

Stocking, stacking, pricing, marking, facing, case cutting and product warehousing and storage

Prevention of shrink or damage or spoilage of product

Safety, security and sanitation

Compliance with Company and store policies

Compliance with applicable laws and regulations

Being available to work, or at work, during the times required

Fully and properly complete job assignments

Training

Discard outdated or spoiled product

Rotatien of product

Operate hand trucks and pallet jacks

And more specifically:

Security and organization of receiving, storage and loading dock areas

Acceptance of all deliveries and verification that product received is the same as that listed on the invoice

Review and acceptance of only proper and correct invoices and the transmittal of such invoices to the assistant store director

Preparation of orders for various products, including milk and dairy products

Review and acceptance of only proper and correct orders submitted by outside sales representatives, including the monitoring of the quantities of orders submitted by outside sales representatives

Maintain records of merchandise received which is to be advertised at a reduced price

Operation of cardboard bailer and dumpster and the removal of garbage from the store

Repair of damaged product, pricing of damaged product and the offering for sale of such product. If product is damaged beyond repair then the receiving clerk is responsible for that product being discarded or returned to the appropriate vendor, Inventory control, Checking, Other necessary or required duties


An applicant must generally have an aptitude for sales and experience in stocking, merchan­dising, ordering, pricing, stacking, facing and product warehousing and storage prior to being assigned to the receiving clerk position. Also, it is helpful if the individual has worked as a night stocker prior to being assigned to the receiving clerk position.
