Nature of Work
The City of Minot is accepting applications for the entry-level position of FIREFIGHTER. This is a full time, nonexempt civil service position. This is skilled fire suppression and emergency response work involving responding to citizen calls for emergency assistance due to fires and other crisis situations; operates fire suppression equipment. Applicants must complete the written firefighter exam, complete a job-related physical agility and fitness test, oral interviews, background investigation, and post-offer medical exam. Education and Experience
- Graduation from high school or GED
Compensation and Benefits
- The assigned salary range for Firefighter under the 2026 City of Minot Annual Pay Plan is Grade 58, with an annual salary range of $53,113 – $78,847 per year.
- This is a full time, FLSA non-exempt position.

Testing requirement | Firefighter testing will take place on Thursday, May 21st, 2026 beginning at 9:00 AM. Physical Agility Testing immediately follows written exam. First round interviews will occur on same day Thursday, May 21st, 2026. |
