Prep Cook

We are seeking a Prep Cook to join our culinary team. This role is essential in ensuring that all ingredients are prepared efficiently and to the highest standards, supporting the smooth operation of our kitchen. Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring as per recipes and standards
  • Assist in setting up workstations with all necessary supplies and ingredients
  • Check quality of ingredients
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
  • Support the kitchen team during service hours by providing prepped ingredients promptly
  • Maintain organization of storage areas and ensure proper labeling and storage of ingredients
  • Assist with inventory management and notify supervisors of low stock levels
  • Adhere to portion control and presentation standards to ensure consistency
  • Use proper safety equipment, such as cut gloves, when preparing food

Paid Sick Leave (Colorado)

Per the Colorado Healthy Families and Workplaces Act ("HFWA"), Urban Egg provides the following paid leave to all employees working in a Colorado-based location: Up to 48 hours of paid leave per year, for the use of a variety of health and safety needs. Team members earn 1 hour of leave for every 30 hours worked. Leave is paid at the same pay rate as time worked.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of (2) years experience in a full-service kitchen
  • Ability to follow directions and replicate recipes
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of basic knife skills, kitchen equipment use & maintenance
  • Daytime and weekend availability
