Moosic Plant Process Service Mechanic (2nd & 3rd Shift) in Moosic, Pennsylvania at BAZOOKA COMPANIES LLC

Primary Function

Performs mechanical repairs, adjusting, and maintenance on assigned materials handling and storage equipment, manufacturing and wrapping processing equipment; and conducts checks and tests as required without direct supervision

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Performs preventive maintenance on all equipment; inspects, tightening and adjusting pans, timing; lubricates, appraises operating condition, routinely diagnoses all mechanical and material problems and corrects off-standard conditions on assigned equipment, without guidance; recognizes and initiates action on electrical problems
• Performs all repairs and modifications of equipment, works to sketches and blueprints; assembles equipment or sub-assembles and readies for production; moves equipment to and from production floor
• Assures proper feeding of material by loading rolls of wrapping material onto spindle, threads and splices material
• Guides and assists less qualified personnel in making repairs, usi,19allportable and shop tools and equipment as required, and procuring items form stock; may perform welding, brazing, soldering, etc.
• May machine simple items such as bushings, small transmission housings, shags, boring sprockets and gears; makes simple sketches and drawings
• Aids in cleaning molding line and wrapping equipment
• Performs necessary adjustment to depositing and ring feed components to ensure an acceptable quality product
• Keeps check on humidity in wrapping room and advises supervisor
• Makes recommendations to supervisor for necessary revisions and improvements in equipment under their jurisdiction
• Maintains safety devices in working order and recommends their installation when indicated
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Experience / Knowledge

• General knowledge equivalent to High School education plus two years in trade school and/or
• equivalent relevant experience
• Knowledge in production and manufacturing methods
• Over three (3) to four (4) years prior mechanical experience
