Accountabilities:
  • Manage and strengthen client relationships while ensuring high levels of satisfaction, trust, and service quality.
  • Lead and mentor a tax team, including senior managers and tax accountants, supporting professional growth and performance excellence.
  • Prepare and review individual and business tax returns, tax planning strategies, and compliance documentation.
  • Develop strategic tax recommendations related to organizational structures, compensation planning, retirement plans, and employee incentives.
  • Conduct tax projections, scenario modeling, and financial analyses to support informed client decision-making.
  • Respond to federal and state tax notices, including payroll, income, and sales tax matters.
  • Research complex tax issues and provide guidance on compliance, reporting requirements, and evolving regulations.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics to improve team performance, ensure quality control, and maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Support clients with entity formation, government programs, grant opportunities, and long-term tax strategy planning.
  • Drive process improvements and contribute ideas that enhance efficiency, scalability, and client outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Active CPA license with 8+ years of accounting experience, primarily within public accounting environments.
  • Strong expertise in both individual and business taxation, tax strategy, and compliance management.
  • Proven experience leading teams and managing client relationships in a consultative capacity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly and professionally.
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable working in cloud-based environments and using multiple accounting and tax software platforms.
  • Experience with accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with major tax preparation software and project or practice management tools.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented attitude with a commitment to meeting deadlines and improving operational processes.
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity when handling confidential client information.
