Blind Squirrel Games is seeking a HR Generalist & Recruiter with relevant HR/Recruiting experience to join our dynamic team at BSG. In this role, you will play a key role in supporting both HR and Recruitment efforts, ensuring the company attracts and retains top talent while contributing to the overall growth and seamless operation of the organization. You’ll collaborate closely with various departments to ensure cross functional services are delivered efficiently and effectively, both domestically and internationally.
Location
This full-time role is based out of our Austin, TX, campus, and we are focusing on local candidates at this time. This role has an onsite requirement of three days per week.
Compensation
The salary range being considered for this role is $75,000-$90,000, the actual amounts may differ based on experience, performance, and location. These salary ranges do not apply to locations outside the United States.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding (Domestic & International):
Take initiative on sourcing for upcoming roles. Supporting the team’s end-to-end recruitment process, Additionally owning screening, scheduling, interviewing, and onboarding for both domestic and international hires. Coordinate and schedule interviews (phone, video, onsite) using Microsoft Outlook and Teams. Collaborate with hiring managers to define job descriptions and hiring criteria, ensuring consistent processes for global recruitment. Assist with onboarding, including relocation support. Manage recruiter and interviewer calendars, ensuring availability alignment while communicating interview logistics to stakeholders and candidate in a clear, timely manner. Troubleshoot scheduling conflicts and reschedule interviews as needed.Employee Relations, Performance Management, and Training & Development:
Serve as the primary contact for employee queries related to workplace policies, performance questions, and behavior across BSG’s campuses in the U.S, Colombia, and New Zealand. Assist in resolving disputes and managing disciplinary actions in line with local and global policies. Foster strong relationships across regions, promoting open communication and a cohesive global culture. Support the performance review process to ensure consistency while adapting to local regulations. Assist the Director of Human Resources with addressing performance issues, developing performance improvement plans (PIPs), and delivering training programs focused on compliance, cultural awareness, and leadership development. Collaborate with managers to identify training needs and recommend learning opportunities that enhance the global workforce’s skills.HR Compliance (Domestic & International):
Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws, including labor standards, work permits, and visa regulations across regions. Maintain accurate and confidential employee records for both domestic and international personnel.Execute on EEO-1 Reporting, the California Pay Data Reporting, and any other reporting requirements
Compensation & Benefits (Domestic & International):
Assist in administering global compensation and benefits programs, including international health plans and expatriate packages. Respond to employee inquiries regarding benefits, leave policies, and compensation structures across multiple regions. Conduct compensation market research and benchmarking for relevant markets.Support for Overseas Expansion:
Assist with the HR aspects of expanding into new international markets, including setting up employment contracts, documentation infrastructure, compliance frameworks. Collaborate with international HR teams to ensure smooth transitions during global expansion.HR Projects & Initiatives:
Participate in HR-related projects such as employee engagement surveys, performance reviews, skill assessments, and international workforce planning. Support the refinement of HR processes to enhance global operations and improve the employee experience across regions. Coordinate key employee events and provide on-site support for events at the Austin Location. Collaborate with cross functional teams on campus as a stakeholder and partner to I.T, HR, and Production. Contribute to internal engagement initiatives, studio events, and culture-building activities that are well-organized, welcoming, and aligned with our culture and employee engagement goals.Qualifications and Education Requirements:
A Bachelor's in HR, BA, or related field experience. 3-5 years of experience in Human Resources / Recruiting, HR operations. Experience with HRIS and ATS tools. Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel.Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of HR laws and regulations. HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) is preferred. Technically savvy with experience using HR systems, data analysis tools, and recruitment platforms. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working across different cultures and time zones. Ability to handle sensitive issues with professionalism and confidentiality. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Ability to deliver clear and engaging presentations to diverse audiences, using visual aids and effective communication techniques to convey complex information.Pluses:
