Houston Career Institute- Houston, TX
The Electrical Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and laboratory instruction in electrical systems and related trade skills. This position prepares students for entry-level employment in the electrical field by providing instruction in theory, hands-on skills, safety standards, and professional work practices in alignment with institutional, industry, and accrediting standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Provide classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction in electrical systems, wiring methods, circuitry, tools, equipment, and trade practices
- Teach in accordance with approved curriculum, lesson plans, and course outlines
- Ensure instruction aligns with National Electrical Code (NEC) standards and industry safety regulations, including OSHA requirements
- Demonstrate proper use of electrical tools, equipment, and materials
- Evaluate student performance through written exams, practical skill assessments, and competency check-offs
- Provide timely and constructive feedback to students
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress in accordance with institutional policies
- Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, and institutional events

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of a recognized electrical training program or apprenticeship preferred
- Minimum of [3–5] years of documented industry experience in the electrical trade
- Teaching or training experience preferred
