Concrete Foreman- Structural at Sterling Construction Company, Inc. – Denver, Colorado

The Foreman responsibilities and abilities include but are not limited to the list below. Other duties may be assigned.

• Read, understand, interpret and enforce safety policies and practices.
• Examines blueprints to determine dimensions of structure.
• Lays out floor-plan/worksite as needed.
• Determines sequence of activities concerned with fabrication, assembly, and erection of structure.
• Assigns workers to such tasks as cutting material to size, building concrete forms, erecting wooden framework, and laying flooring.
• Inspects work performed by subordinates to ensure quality.
• Supervises workers engaged in building timber structures such as cofferdams, trestles, and supports for concrete forms.
• Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product to increase efficiency of work crew.
• Analyzes and resolves work problems, assists workers in solving work problems, and initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
• Maintain a general knowledge of equipment used on the job including basic understanding of equipment limits and designed purposes.

• A minimum of 2 years of Supervisor or Lead concrete structures carpentry work experience – supervising carpenters, laborers, and concrete finishers.
• A minimum of 8 years of concrete carpenter work for roadways / highways.
• A minimum of 8 years of work experience and understanding of concrete forms, form setting in concrete structures for roadway projects and or bridge projects.
• A minimum of 4 years of reading blueprints work experience in civil projects, concrete paving and roadway concrete (curbs, box culverts, etc.) projects.
