Position Information


The Kids Interaction and NeuroDevelopment (KIND) Lab at the University of California, Riverside is seeking a part-time lab manager to join us in Winter 2026. The lab uses brain imaging, physiological, eye tracking, and behavioral methods to examine emotional development and social learning in typically developing children and children with disruptive behavior and anxiety. We then link these processes with real world consequences across mental health, well-being, and clinical outcomes. Applicants can learn more about our work at www.ucrkindlab.com. The position is ideal for motivated students looking to develop as researchers before applying to graduate programs in developmental psychology, neuroscience, or related fields. The lab manager will coordinate multiple aspects of intensive research projects, including participant recruitment, data collection, stimulus development, programming of behavioral and neuroimaging experiments, and maintenance and analysis of behavioral and neuroimaging data. The lab manager will also provide general research support, such as coordinate lab meetings, manage teams of research assistants, assist with IRB and grant proposal generation, maintain study databases and lab documentation, and author manuscripts for publication. This is an initial 6 month appointment with the option for renewal pending available funding, operational needs and successful performance. This is a part-time position at 50% appointment.The full salary range for the Lab Manager is $25.06 - $29.60. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $25.06 - $26.74 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.As a University employee, you will be required to comply with all applicable University policies and/or collective bargaining agreements, as may be amended from time to time. Federal, state, or local government directives may impose additional requirements.

Two years of laboratory experience or two years of college including courses in the natural, physical or social sciences and one year of laboratory experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; and knowledge and abilities essential to the successful performance of the duties assigned to the position. Required
Some exposure to one or more programming language (e.g., Matlab, Python, Javascript, shell scripting, etc.) Preferred
Experience conducting independent research in psychology or neuroscience Preferred
Experience analyzing neuroimaging data (e.g., AFNI, SPM, FSL, or similar platforms) Preferred
Strong computer programming skills Preferred
Spanish language abilities are a plus, as many of the families we work with are bilingual Preferred
Minimum Requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Demonstrated background for research experience with children and families.
Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational and time management skills

Ability to occasionaly work weekends for participant testing.
