Our electricians play a critical role in mill reliability, safety, and continuous improvement.Position SummaryThe Industrial Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment throughout the sawmill. This role supports production and maintenance operations by ensuring electrical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable codes and standards.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, and repair electrical equipment, components, and systems, including control panels and motor controlsPerform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipmentInspect, test, and diagnose electrical components to identify defects or repair needsTroubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate testing devices and diagnostic toolsInstall, replace, or modify machine components and electrical attachments according to production specificationsReassemble machines and equipment following maintenance or repair workStart and observe machines to verify proper electrical and mechanical operationRead and follow blueprints, schematics, specifications, and verbal instructionsPlan and install electrical wiring, conduit, and cable systems, including measuring, cutting, stripping, splicing, and solderingConnect wiring and cables to electrical service panels, fixtures, motors, and machineryPerform basic adjustments and replace defective electrical or electronic componentsCollaborate with maintenance personnel to repair, move, or install equipmentTrack labor time and repair parts using work orders and the maintenance management systemParticipate in action planning and continuous improvement initiativesPerform all other duties as assigned by the supervisorAdditional DutiesMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work areaAssist with mill shutdowns, startups, and special maintenance projects as neededOrganizational RelationshipsReports directly to the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance ManagerWorks closely with maintenance mechanics, millwrights, and production teamsQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED preferredMinimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experienceMinimum of 3 years of industrial electrician experienceStrong working knowledge of electrical systems, industrial equipment, and hand toolsKnowledge of national, state, and local electrical codes and regulationsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical documentationStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform physical tasks including bending, stretching, climbing, and liftingAbility to monitor gauges, indicators, and equipment operationStrong teamwork, communication, and decision-making skillsSolid reasoning and basic mathematical skillsSafety ResponsibilitiesFollow all area- and machine-specific safety regulationsWear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hardhat, safety glasses, and hearing protectionDo not enter restricted areas without authorizationImmediately report unsafe or malfunctioning equipment to a supervisorRequest assistance when tasks exceed individual knowledge or abilityInspect equipment and work areas prior to operationEliminate unsafe conditions when possibleFollow standard lockout/tagout procedures when requiredUse proper lifting techniques, lifting with legs—not the backNever approach a saw while it is runningFollow all company safety policies and proceduresBenefits & PerksCompany-paid benefits include:Health insurance with prescription drug coverageDental and vision insuranceTelemedicine program through TeladocComprehensive Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid vacations and 7 paid holidaysShort- and long-term disabilityLife and accidental death insurance401(k) plan with company matchEmployee referral programRally Health Rewards programAdditional benefits include:Safety incentivesAccident and critical care insuranceWellness incentives and employee recognition programsConditional relocation assistanceConditional tuition assistanceOn-the-job trainingPromotion-from-within culturePotential for additional Paid Time Off (PTO)Uniform rental and boot purchase program
