Tampa Microwave is a leading manufacturer and supplier of Manpack & Fly Away satellite terminals designed and built for the expeditionary user community to guarantee communications connectivity in the most austere environments. Tampa Microwave primarily serves Federal and Department of Defense markets.
We are seeking to fill a Field Services Technician position based out of our Clearwater, FL location. This is an on-site off-site as required position. This position reports to the Technical Support Services Manager.

The Field Service Engineer is responsible for the installation, integration, configuration, testing, and support of satellite communication systems including Manpack and Fly Away terminals. This role provides technical field support to customers, performs system troubleshooting and validation, and assists with training, demonstrations, and product deployments. The position requires domestic and international travel to support operational and customer requirements.
Perform field installation, integration, configuration, and testing of Manpack and Fly Away satellite terminals and associated communications systems.Travel to customer locations (CONUS and OCONUS as required) to conduct system setup, diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and operational support.Troubleshoot RF, satellite, networking, and power systems to identify faults and implement corrective actions.Support in-house and customer site testing, system validation, and replication of customer trouble tickets and RMA evaluations.Provide customer training on system operation, preventive maintenance procedures, and basic troubleshooting techniques.Document service activities, configuration changes, test results, and technical findings in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and system performance verification to ensure operational readiness and reliability.Support Engineering and Program teams with system upgrades, integration activities, prototype evaluations, and field validation testing.Assist Business Development and Sales with system demonstrations, product launches, and technical training.Maintain accountability and proper handling of company tools, test equipment, and customer-furnished equipment.Ensure compliance with safety requirements, export regulations, and security protocols during all field and facility activities.Participate in off-hour support calls as required to meet customer operational needs.Travel domestically and internationally, including brief stays at remote or austere locations when required.Qualifications

U.S. Citizenship requiredAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance upon hireBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Management, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experienceMinimum 2 years of experience in a Field Service, Technical Support, or Communications Systems roleExperience with satellite communications and Line of Sight (LOS) transport methods, including FDMA, TDMA, and DAMAExperience supporting military or commercial RF communication systemsAbility to serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on supported systems and equipmentExperience conducting technical training in a structured or formal environmentExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsPreferred
Prior military service or experience supporting military communications systemsExperience with defense or government communications programsDesired Certifications
