We’re hiring a Sr. Manager to lead our SOX program at Sterling Infrastructure in The Woodlands, TX. This role reports to the Director of Assurance and owns ICFR across a decentralized, project-based business.
This role will need to bring experience and critical thinking to help build out and enhance the SOX program.
Sterling Infrastructure is a publicly traded, high-growth construction and infrastructure company with operations across the U.S. This role is for someone who can step into complexity, partner with the business, and raise the bar on how SOX is viewed across the company.
Position_Description :
What you’ll do
- Lead a team responsible for SOX walkthroughs, testing, and documentation
- Work directly with Finance, Operations, and IT to strengthen controls in real operating environments
- Identify gaps, inconsistencies, and inefficiencies—and drive practical solutions
- Partner with control owners on solutions that enhance controls, but still support effective and efficient operations.
- Help evolve the control framework so it can scale with a growing organization
What this role is not
- To be a caretaker of an environment where everything is already standardized and running smoothly
- A role where you can stay behind the scenes and just execute testing
Position Requirements :
What we’re looking for
- 8+ years in SOX, internal audit, or public accounting
- Strong working knowledge of ICFR, COSO and US GAAP
- Proven ability to work through decentralized environments
- Someone who can educate and challenge control owners, influence leaders, and drive change
- Comfortable being both strategic and hands-on (you’ll be doing both)
- CPA or CIA preferred
