Job Overview:

The Coordinator of Field Training and Performance is responsible for overseeing all daily operations of field training including daily observation report review, creating interval reports, and initiating performance remediation plans. The FTEP Coordinator is responsible for compliance of the program and performance of field training officers and trainees.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • National Registry Paramedic or New Jersey MICP or NJ MICN
  • 3 Years of Experience as a Paramedic
  • ACLS Certification
  • PALS Certification
  • American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Provider
  • Current Non-provisional Driver’s License and must satisfy the current vehicle insurance company’s requirement.
  • NEMSMA Basic Field Training Officers Course
  • Preceptor Course
  • HAZMAT Awareness and Operations
  • WMD or CBRNE Awareness
  • ICS 100 and 200, and NIMS 700 and 800
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • NEMSMA Supervising Paramedic Officer (ACPE)
  • Instructor credential in one of the following disciplines: BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS, etc.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

Essential Functions:

  • Conducts self in a professional, dignified, and compassionate manner at all times.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Responsible for the oversight of Field Training offers across regions.
  • Responsible for reviewing daily observation reports for all active employees in training.
  • Responsible for the completion of interval reports (biweekly).
  • Create touch base meeting with new hires (biweekly)
  • Responsible for initiating performance remediation plans when trainees are showing deficiency and/or not responding to training.
  • Coordinator shall coordinate meetings with clinical and operations team for implementation of performance remediation plans.
  • Required to schedule trainees for all phases of field training (mandatory fifteen shifts and any required extensions)
  • Responsible for providing feedback to operations manager/director for yearly evaluation of field training officers and all probationary members.
  • Creating Standard Evaluation Guidelines (BLS, ALS, Dispatch) and formulating revision committee to meet every year.
  • Update Phase Guide with benchmarks for operation, particular to each area
  • Instruct National EMS Management Association, Field Training and Evaluation Program (training location)
  • Conducts mandatory quarterly field training meetings.
  • Assist with interviewing respective BLS/ALS candidates when necessary
  • Providing oversight to clinical orientation days
  • Aid with separation/offboarding of new hires.
  • Manage Non-productive hours for field training.
  • Other duties as assigned by Recruitment and Training Manager
