Garbage Truck Mechanic in Easley, South Carolina at Curbtender, Inc.

Garbage Truck Mechanic will be responsible for performing mechanical and hydraulic repair work on garbage trucks.

• Identifies mechanical problems.
• Performs tests on specific parts and systems to confirm proper mechanical function; ensures that all critical parts are examined.
• Performs hydraulic and mechanical repairs as needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of all aspects of vehicle mechanics.
• Excellent mechanical repair skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Willing to learn the operation of a refuse truck.
• Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
• Proficient with blueprints.
• Ability to perform repairs in a timely fashion.
• Ability to read work orders and accurately complete documentation.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Excellent attention to detail.

• Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work safely.
• Must be able to stand majority of working hours.
