Manufacturing Process Intern (Paid Internship)

We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Intern to support our Machine Shop by helping document, improve, and standardize shop-floor processes. This role is hands-on and works closely with machinists, welders, and cleaning technicians to develop clear work instructions and visual training materials.

Key Responsibilities

• Work in an active machine shop environment to document manufacturing processes.
• Develop clear, easy-to-follow work instructions using written documentation and instructional videos.
• Collaborate with area supervisors and shop team members to review and improve existing processes across multiple machine shop disciplines.
• Think creatively to structure information in ways that improve clarity, consistency, and ease of training.
• Spend time on the shop floor observing and learning processes to ensure documentation reflects real-world practices.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications
Required:

• Pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related manufacturing-focused discipline.
• Comfortable working in a machine shop environment.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to turn complex processes into clear instructions.
• Interest in manufacturing, machining, welding, or industrial processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and shop-floor team members.
• Experience or interest in creating instructional or how-to videos.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Energetic, curious, and willing to learn by working directly with production teams.
