About This Position

Monday - Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm - 37.5 hours
BARC is excited to be opening a new Café at our downtown Bristol food service program! We are seeking a professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to assist individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and provide daily restaurant support.
Services include but are not limited to working in and assisting our individuals in the restaurant, promoting personal growth and reaching their goals in daily activities. Applicants with no experience or seeking a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates.
Requirements:Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least age 18.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service for our patrons, prepare food and maintain a clean and organized restaurant environment while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.
- Ensure a safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity, respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
- Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Efforts:
- May include extended periods of standing or walking in a food service environment.
- Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 50 pounds.
