Job Description
Job Summary: Coordinates provider schedules to optimize patient access, enhance customer service, and support efficient business operations. Handles the pre-registration process using practice management software to ensure accurate patient information and manage referrals, authorizations, and certifications as needed.

Responsibilities
- Maintains current knowledge of patient scheduling software, ARGs (Appointment Request Guidelines) for the providers they schedule, and standard operating procedures for pre-registration and patient appointment scheduling.
- Pre-registers all new patients scheduling appointments with 95% accuracy.
- Obtains demographic data for the referring physician when a patient is scheduled, including the reason for the visit, and documents this information.
- Verifies patients’ insurance electronically or by phone to ensure coverage is active and informs patients of their expected payment at the time of service.
- Completes data entry of pre-registration notes in the scheduling system.
- Utilizes access to resource guidelines and scheduling protocols to determine the need for financial counseling.

Physical and Environmental Demands: Requires occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, frequent reaching, constant sitting, occasional standing, occasional twisting, and occasional walking.
