Job Title: Referrals Lead (Knoxville Clinic)
Position Type: Hourly, Full-Time
Location: Knoxville, TN
Position Summary:
The Referrals Lead plays a key role in supporting Sidekick’s school-based services by managing and processing client referrals from intake through completion. This position ensures all orders are handled accurately, TennCare verifications are completed and distributed in a timely manner, and documentation meets all compliance standards.
In addition , this role provides day-to-day guidance to referral team members, therapists and case management leaders, helping ensure seamless coordination of care and consistent workflow execution. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys organization, multitasking, and working in a fast-paced environment with a mission-driven team.

Sidekick Therapy Partners is a leading pediatric private practice serving over 5,000 children weekly across 30+ school districts in Tennessee and North Carolina, as well as in our outpatient clinics and via teletherapy. Our unique model focuses on 1:1 therapy—without the administrative burden of IEP meetings.
Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day guidance and support to the referrals team, helping prioritize work and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Monitor referral progress and follow up when needed.
• Receive, review, and process physician orders and patient documentation.
• Ensure all documents meet state, insurance, and internal compliance standards.
• Verify documents are properly labeled, complete, and assigned to the correct patient.
• Process school orders for TennCare and School Pay clients.
• Complete insurance verifications for TennCare and commercial plans.
• Follow up on Problem Alerts, Failed Documents, and Stopped Orders.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve documentation or verification needs promptly.
• Identify opportunities to improve referral workflows and efficiency
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in administrative healthcare operations preferred.
• Experience guiding team workflows, driving collaboration, and supporting outcomes preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and switch between tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn and navigate electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively.
