About This Position
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our clinical team on a part-time basis. Under general direction, the CRNA assists with administering anesthetics and monitors anesthetized patients during surgical, obstetric, and radiological procedures. The CRNA plays a critical role in ensuring patient safety before, during, and after anesthesia administration.
Essential Functions
Responsibilities may include any and/or all of the following:
- Evaluate patients pre-operatively by interviewing and examining the patient; assess clinical data and determine the appropriate anesthetic plan.
- Administer anesthetics in accordance with clinical privileges and any applicable conditions or restrictions.
- Monitor, interpret, and evaluate patient data from anesthesia monitors during procedures for patients of all age groups and physical status classifications.
- Protect patient life functions and vital organs throughout anesthesia administration.
- Perform medical non-surgical procedures such as IV insertion, airway management, intubation, and maintaining hemodynamic and electrolyte balance in routine and emergency situations.
- Monitor and evaluate patients during the post-operative recovery period.
- Prepare medications and maintain anesthesia equipment to ensure safe operating conditions.
- Maintain accurate accounting and documentation of controlled substances.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support patient care and clinical operations.
Work Environment
This position may involve working in surgical suites, outpatient procedure centers, or radiology settings. The role requires close collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe and effective patient care.
Schedule
Part-time schedule with flexible hours based on procedural needs and facility operations.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and experience equivalent to the following:
- Graduation from an approved Registered Nurse (RN) program.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related clinical experience.
- Current and active Florida RN License.
- Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and anesthesia delivery systems.
- Knowledge of medical technology used in anesthesia and patient monitoring.
- Strong counseling and advising skills for patient care and education.
- Excellent interpersonal and human relations skills.
- Ability to learn, interpret, and apply institutional policies and procedures.
- Ability to assist with patient mobility, including pushing carts and/or wheelchairs when necessary.
- Ability to adapt to changing work environments and clinical situations.
- Ability to maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
