Engineering Technician at Apparent Technologies Inc – Austin, Texas

Position Overview: Apparent Technologies is looking for an Engineering Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong CAD software skills, a background in mechanical design, and experience with metal manufacturing processes. This role involves creating detailed manufacturing drawings and CAD models, supporting the engineering team, and resolving production issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create accurate and detailed manufacturing drawings and CAD models.
• Use SolidWorks CAD software to design components and systems.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on mechanical component design, prototype builds and fixture design.
• Address immediate production issues and work with management to develop long-term solutions.
• Maintain familiarity with drawing standards, formatting, and dimensioning.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in SolidWorks CAD software.
• Knowledge of component and system design.
• Familiarity with drawing standards, formatting, and dimensioning.
• Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• Experience with CAD modeling and assembly drawings.
• Experience converting 3D models to 2D prints using CAD software.

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience with 3D CAD software.
• Minimum 1 year of manufacturing line experience (preferably in the semiconductor industry).

Desirable Skills:

• CMM experience (preferred but not required).
• Experience with welding and/or machining equipment.
• Passion for designing and building mechanical systems.
