SUMMARY: The Accounting Manager oversees the accounting functions of the organization, ensuring accurate and compliant financial reporting, effective internal controls, and efficient accounting operations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Accounting and FP&A, this role manages key accounting activities, leads/mentors accounting staff, and supports strategic financial decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the accounting department, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and month-end close procedures in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
  • Prepare, review, and analyze timely financial statements, balance sheets, profit & loss reports, and budget vs. actual reports.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (GAAP), regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
  • Develop, document, and enforce internal controls and accounting procedures to safeguard assets and improve operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate audits (internal and external) and support tax compliance and reporting activities.
  • Lead, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff to encourage professional growth and high-quality performance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., finance, operations, HR) to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Provide meaningful financial insights and analysis to leadership to inform strategic decision-making.
Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.

Preferred qualifications:

  • CPA (active or inactive) preferred
  • Big 4 public accounting experience
  • Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • NetSuite (or other similar ERP) experience

Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP
