Quality Inspector at Winona Powder Coating Inc – Etna Green, Indiana

General Summary:

Support all aspects of coating, finished product, up to and including packaging and shipment. Employee has the responsibility and authority to control quality.

1. Ability to develop and assist in maintaining work instructions issued from the attribute card, plex system, and customer requirements.
2. Must be able to multi-task and prioritize tasks given.
3. Must be able to follow instructions (both verbal and written).
4. Must be able to work with limited supervision.
5. Location and understanding to read attribute process cards/prints.
6. Ability to complete and maintain inspection logs, certificate of conformances, customer specific paperwork, nonconforming tagging, and any required lot control and traceability required for Quality.
7. Conduct 100% visual inspection when needed.
8. Develop Packing instruction per customer requests and assist any production with packing when needed.
9. Ability to identify non-conforming parts vs acceptable for both Powder and E-Coat
10. Ability to facilitate and assist with rework of non-conforming product to meet the customer acceptance criteria.
11. Create Quality Alerts and train employees on said Quality Alert.
12. Communicate effectively with Plant Manager, Supervisors, and all employees.
13. Conduct titrations for both Powder and E-Coat when needed.
14. Assist any area of Winona powder Coat and E-Coat that may need support.
15. Operate all measuring devices needed to perform product inspections.
16. Perform calibrations of measuring devices.
17. Assist with internal auditing when needed.
18. Must be able to create and present test reports, return material, defect analysis reports.
19. Maintains acceptable housekeeping in areas of responsibility
20. Must wear proper PPE for the task being completed.
21. Must follow Winona Quality Policy

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the principal duties and responsibilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required.

Education / Experience Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Ability to learn or read blueprints
• Use measurement equipment
• Supervisory Skills

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds as necessary. Must be able to stand, walk, and bend repeatedly during the entire production shift. Additional physical demands include reaching and occasionally being able to lift up to 60 pounds.
