Job Description
Position Scope
The Preventative Maintenance EPG Technician interprets technical documentation, including OEM service manuals, safety protocols, schematics, and company procedures. This role requires expertise in electrical and electronic systems, ladder logic, and power distribution (single-phase and three-phase). Must understand AC/DC circuit theory and power fundamentals. Proficiency with diagnostic tools—multimeters, oscilloscopes, insulation testers—is essential. Experience with low- and medium-voltage switchgear and control systems is highly beneficial. Responsibilities include advanced troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and repairs on generators, ATS, switchgear, and UPS systems. Work must meet safety standards and deadlines, emphasizing reliability, technical accuracy, and customer satisfaction.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; technical training or military equivalent preferred.
- Completion of formal training in Power Generation Technology or Power Production and Maintenance preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience performing electrical diagnostics and troubleshooting on diesel-powered generator systems (8.5 kW–2,500 kW).
- Candidates with strong mechanical backgrounds and limited electrical experience may be considered.
- Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and on-call shifts.
- Ability to work independently in remote or field environments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills; interact effectively with customers and team members.
- Valid driver’s license and DOT medical card required.
- Must own basic industrial tools (hand tools, air tools, torque wrenches, multimeters).
- Ability to travel within territory (up to 20%).

Work Environment
Field and shop-based work, including outdoor and industrial sites. Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, dust, and confined spaces. PPE required at all times. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be necessary.
