Senior Project Manager (HVAC Controls)

Overview

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading customers toward Building Management System (BMS) solutions that deliver optimal value and successful outcomes for both the client and ASG. This role requires a strategic, solutions-oriented professional who can provide technical guidance, engineering expertise, and project leadership across projects of varying size and complexity.

The Senior Project Manager serves as a primary representative of ASG, acting as a knowledgeable, responsive liaison for both internal teams and external stakeholders. This position plays a critical role in ensuring project success and contributes significantly to the overall performance and reputation of ASG.

Job Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities for ASG. Prepare accurate estimates and develop detailed bid proposals for both new and existing customers.
  • Meet with customers to assess project needs, constraints, and expectations.
  • Respond promptly to customer pricing requests and inquiries.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, varying in size, scope, and complexity.
  • Oversee project execution to ensure all work is completed on schedule, within scope, and according to design specifications. Negotiate and prepare subcontracts, purchase orders, and other procurement documents.
  • Provide technical and engineering support throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate and communicate effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through timely, professional communication.
  • Support the construction closeout process, ensuring all documentation and deliverables are completed.
  • Ensure project billing, invoicing, and receivables are processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Monitor labor and material costs to ensure projects are delivered at or under budget.
  • Contribute to the improvement and maintenance of operational processes and best practices.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration between engineering and construction teams.
  • Mentor, guide, and support Project Engineers to foster professional growth and ensure strong technical execution.
Requirements:

Education & Experience Requirements/Preferences

  • Required: BS in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Required: 7+ years of related (HVAC, building controls, construction) work experience
  • Demonstrated leadership experience and proficiency in mentoring project managers.

Technical Requirements

  • Demonstrates comprehensive expertise and in-depth understanding of HVAC systems, particularly in relation to control systems.
  • Advanced knowledge of control systems and design principles.
  • Ability to interpret HVAC mechanical plans and specifications.
  • Competence with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Mechanical aptitude and engineering common sense are a necessity.
  • Knowledge of the Automated Logic ecosystem is a plus.

  • Attention to detail and willingness to coordinate and confirm project details and assumptions
  • Enjoy diverse working environments and occasionally being on construction sites.
  • Be able to work on multiple projects in parallel with varying schedule constraints.
  • Must have a valid California Driver's License and a clean record.
