Role Description
You will report to Director, SW Development Engineering in Test
Location
Based in Vancouver
What you will be doing:
The position involves automated test planning and development of next-generation flagship products, services, and systems for Harmonic with a strong focus on both general usage scenarios and customer-centric test planning. You will partner and collaborate with R&D teams across global offices to design and execute tests that reflect real-world customer workflows and ensure reliable, high-quality releases throughout the product development cycle.
Successful candidates for this position will be exposed to and learn about internet video, mobile live streaming and digital video content preparation and delivery to TVs, PC,iDeviesand all other video-enabled devices within the context of cutting-edge technologies and techniques.
As part of the role, you will be involved in the following areas:
Plan and develop automated test in agile development approach
Provide technical expertise on automated test design, optimization and strategy to improve product testability,maintainabilityand best practices of test development
Watch over test execution on continuous integration pipeline in order to deliver new features and patches without sacrificing stability, quality, and velocity.
Testing of SaaS
What you should have:
B.Scor abovein Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or related disciplines from a top-tier university.
Experience in one of the followingprogramming languages: JavaScript, Python, Java, C++
Experience in testing of SaaS
Knowledge and/or experience in the following:
CI/CD Automation
Containerization/Orchestration experience (Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
Strong experience in managing Cloud service (AWS, GCP, etc.)
Mobile video systems (encoding and distribution of video in OTT systems)
Also, you should be the following:
Fast learner can quickly pick up new skills as required
Strong sense of commitment and responsibility
Strong passion for providing top quality product to customers, ability to implement new ideas, ability to think "outside of the box"
Good analytical skills and communication skills
Basic Linux knowledge must
Networking knowledge advantage

Pay & Benefits:

For this role, the estimated base salary range is between CAD 80,000 - CAD 95,000. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market, location, and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
