About This Position
Job Title: Returns Associate
Reports to: Inventory Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Full-time; non-exempt
Purpose:
The Returns Associate is responsible for checking in and processing Consumer Direct returns using our in-house software, PRex and Shopify. This role ensures returned products are properly inspected, cleaned, retagged, and updated in the system before being returned to a sellable inventory. The Returns Associate utilizes OWMS to coordinate inventory movement back to Forward Pick or Replenishment locations.
This position is based at our headquarters in Michigan City, IN
Duties and Responsibilities:
Consumer Direct Returns
▪ Check in and process CD returns within Prex and Shopify.
▪ Clean and retag products as needed to restore them to a sellable state.
▪ Utilize OWMS to return inventory to Forward Pick (FP) Bins or other designated storage locations.
▪ Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in return records.
Inbound Mail Deliveries/Outbound Pickups
▪ Sort and process inbound return totes and RMAs daily.
▪ Deliver mail to the Finance Team.
▪ Notify employees via Teams regarding delivered packages in the DC.
Outbound Pickups
▪ Direct pickup carriers to their assigned locations for pickups.
Wholesale RMAs
▪ Check in RMA items and prepare RMA paperwork for the Returns Coordinator.
▪ Identify and report discrepancies for revision.
▪ Clean and retag wholesale returns as needed.
▪ Utilize OWMS to transfer inventory from ReturnBin to FP or RP locations.
Secondary Function:
▪ Assist in other areas of the DC during high order volume periods, as assigned by the Warehouse Operations Manager or Inventory Operations Manager
Skills & Knowledge Required
High School diploma or GED
Ability to read with good comprehension and precise mathematical skills
Must be a self-starter, results-oriented, and a team player
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Excellent skills managing multiple competing priorities daily
Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills
Excellent organizational, time management, and project management skills
Competent with computer software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Solid customer service attitude with excellent negotiation skills
Ability to utilize the in-house ERP and OWMS software systems within 60-days of employment
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Communication with emails, online chat and coworkers requires an ability to express oneself as well as
perceive and exchange ideas
Viewing computer terminal, perceiving, and transcribing data with accuracy and keyboarding
Light work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently,
and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects
Work can require walking while carrying objects, stooping, kneeling, crouching, as well as grasping
objects, and reaching with hands and arms
Reliable physical attendance is required
The employee is required to stay awake throughout the shift
