UNIT SUMMARY: The ICU Step-Down unit at Northwest Hospital has 11 beds. Staff members in ICU Step-Down provide high-quality, compassionate, standardized, evidence-based critical care to patients and their families. Staff members in the ICU Step-Down are often work to clear obstacles for patients related to their care. ICU Step-Down staff members are outgoing and positive and must utilize strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status, implement clinical nursing interventions to modify symptoms, and develop and implement patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes.

JOB SUMMARY: Functions under the supervision of the RN in a cooperative effort with the health care team to assist in providing a variety of patient care related duties. Maintains the standards of nursing care for all patients and implements the policies and procedures of the unit, Hospital and Nursing Department.

REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills; High School diploma or GED equivalent; 1-3 years of experience; Basic computer skills; Synquest; Medical terminology; Hoyer lift; Communication devices; Specialty beds; Automatic B/P cuff; GNA / CNA Licensure; CPR card from AHA.
