About This Position

Job description:

Matheny Motor Truck Company is seeking skilled and experienced Emergency Vehicle Technician to join our Fire and Emergency Team. The successful candidate will be very detailed oriented, a true technician skilled electrician and mechanic. This person needs to be versed in fire pumps, valves, preferably foam systems and both 12 VDC and 120/240 VAC generators.

Responsibilities:

Assemble Under dash harnesses, switch panels, circuit boards, and a variety of different electrical componentsProgramming the lights from customers specsTroubleshoot 12V DC and 110V AC circuitryTest products to ensure performance to customers specificationsReading specs to make sure the trucks are built per specPerform functionality checks on airhorns, sirens, light packages, flash patterns, door locks Etc.Identify and fix quality issuesAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and layouts with written and verbal instructionsAbility to read and use a tape measure for precise measurementsCommunicate issues or delays immediately to managementMaintain a clean and orderly work areaPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:

High school diploma or GEDPreferred 1-2 years of automotive electrical experience in a manufacturing environmentEVT / ASE certification (or is willing to obtain certifications)Strong technical performance recordUnrestricted CDL driver's license and clean driving recordNeat, clean, and professional appearanceAbility to meet the physical demands of the jobAny manufacturer certifications from prior employment (EONE, Pierce, etc.) desiredMust own and can use common hand tools and power tools such as drills, and screw gunsMust have the ability to read, write, and perform mathematical computations at a level required for successful job performancePhysical Demands:

Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and climbing up and down ladders and scaffoldingAbility to regularly lift and move 40 lbs. without assistanceAbility to work with arms above headAbility to operate and understand the operation of all protective safety equipment in the area.Ability to work in non-temperature-controlled environments
