About This Position
Description:
Charlotte Mechanical is a well-respected mechanical contractor in the Charlotte area. We are experiencing rapid growth and are seeking a Plumbing Crew Leader to join our team. This position is ideal for a motivated leader who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and team development.
Job Purpose
The Plumbing Crew Leader helps manage multi-family plumbing construction crews by planning, organizing, and controlling projects; supervising employees and subcontractors; completing quality inspections; and ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Communicate job expectations and provide direction to crew members
- Plan, monitor, and evaluate job performance and productivity
- Contribute construction data and feedback to strategic planning and project reviews
- Implement and maintain production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards
- Identify and resolve project issues; recommend improvements to construction management systems
- Define project scope, purpose, and resource requirements
- Schedule and coordinate crews and subcontractors
- Establish jobsite standards and protocols
- Resolve design issues and evaluate and implement change orders
- Conduct inspections at critical phases to approve work quality
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and national plumbing and safety codes
- Enforce safety standards to maintain a secure and healthy work environment
- Stay current with emerging construction practices and industry standards
- Participate in training, educational opportunities, and professional development
Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience leading plumbing crews
- Must be skilled in both rough-in and trim plumbing
- Strong supervision and delegation skills
- Quality management and quality-focused mindset
- Ability to manage productivity and profitability
- Supply and materials management experience
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Requirements
- Must pass a drug screen
- Must pass a background check
- Must have own hand tools
