Event Services Group (ESG) is seeking a talented and detail-driven Fabrication CNC Technician to join our fabrication department. In this hands-on role, youll be responsible for operating CNC machineryincluding routers, lasers, and hot wire foam cuttersto bring complex event fabrication projects to life. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and creative skills, a deep understanding of material properties, and the ability to produce precision components that support show-stopping experiential builds. Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, operate, and maintain CNC equipment including routers, laser cutters, and hot wire foam cutters
Edit and generate CNC programs using G-code for custom fabrication
Interpret blueprints, CAD files, and 3D renderings to ensure production accuracy
Prepare and optimize digital files and toolpaths for machining
Operate hot wire equipment for detailed foam shaping and sculpting
Collaborate with design and fabrication teams to align on creative intent and technical specs
Conduct inspections using calipers and squares to ensure dimensional accuracy
Assemble CNC-fabricated parts to final build specifications
Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery
Uphold ESGs safety standards and contribute to continuous process improvements
2+ years of CNC machine operation, preferably in a custom fabrication or scenic production setting
Familiarity with foam, wood, plastics, and composite materials
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings, and G-code
Skilled with inspection tools such as calipers and squares
Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high-quality craftsmanship
Experience in collaborative team environments
Problem-solving aptitude for real-time adjustments and machine troubleshooting
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
