About This Position
Objective:
Douglas Machines Corp seeks motivated and results-driven Food Service Equipment Specialists to join our dynamic sales team. The successful candidate will be critical in generating leads, qualifying prospects, and specifying best-in-class sanitary process cleaning solutions within the defined markets. This position is ideal for persuasive communicators with a passion for sales and a knack for building relationships.
Key Activities/Responsibilities:
• Research and identify potential leads through various channels, including online research, social media, and industry events.
• Professionally represent the Douglas product line of industrial washing and sanitizing equipment to defined markets selling standard washing units.
• Proactively make a high volume of outbound calls, e-mails and other communication methods to potential customers to introduce our products/services and qualify leads.
• Develop proposals and estimates for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
• Evaluate cleaning applications, including customer cleaning studies with corresponding process requirements documentation.
• Create and modify product configurations to meet customer needs.
• Recommend improved parts/components to customers, documenting how such changes will lower costs or increase production.
• Maintain regular follow-up with potential leads and ensure timely communication.
• Update and maintain CRM systems with accurate and detailed information on leads and prospects.
• Conduct research on companies, industries, industry contact lists, trade event lists, and more to create a strategic lead communication plan.
• Help to facilitate quotations, product samples, and deliveries.
• Work closely with the field service team to ensure 100% customer satisfaction.
• Collaborate with and develop a network of distribution partners for certain product segments in the respective territory – partners may overlap other territories.
• Utilize customer service and negotiation skills to close deals.
• Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for appointments, set qualified leads, and generate metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
• Develop a strong knowledge and understanding of the company’s products, services, and cleaning applications to facilitate the sales process.
• Ability to stay current with industry trends, market dynamics, competitors, and best practices for lead generation.
• Complete all other duties as assigned by your leader.
Qualifications & Education:
• Previous experience in a similar role in outbound sales, cold-calling, lead generation, telemarketing, or appointment setting is preferred. A minimum of two years of experience related to this position is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage and persuade potential customers, sales, and marketing teams.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Self-motivated, goal-oriented, and able to work without constant supervision, work independently, and as part of a cohesive team.
• Proficiency in using lead generation tools and software, including CRM software (Monday.com, Pipedrive, Goldmine, etc.), Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed targets and goals
• Detail-oriented and analytical, with a keen eye for data-driven decision making and experience developing and implementing lead generation strategies and tactics
• Personable and friendly, able to build rapport and establish connections.
• Adaptable and flexible in response to changing business needs and assisting with additional needs within sales and marketing.
• Ability to handle rejection and maintain a positive attitude.
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent is required; a degree in business, marketing, business management, or a related field is a plus.
