Job Description
Occupational Therapist Burn
The Mission:
You aren’t just treating symptoms; you’re restoring independence. Under the guidance of our Clinical Supervisor, you will be the architect of recovery for patients overcoming burns, injuries, or life-altering conditions. Your goal is to help every individual rewrite their "new normal" through movement, adaptive techniques, and compassionate coaching.
What You’ll Do:
- Design & Deliver: Evaluate patient needs to craft personalized, high-impact treatment plans that turn goals into reality.
- Innovate Recovery: Use a mix of therapeutic exercises and modern modalities to help patients regain mobility and confidence.
- Empower Independence: Fit and train patients with custom splints and orthotics, and teach them—and their families—how to master the "wins" of daily life, from dressing to movement.
- Collaborate for Care: Act as a vital link in the recovery chain, coordinating with aftercare services to ensure a seamless transition from our facility to the real world.
- Observe & Optimize: Stay agile by monitoring patient progress and fine-tuning treatments to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Salary Range: Hourly rate: $39.96 - $58.94
Qualifications:
Education:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy.
Experience:
- Requires a minimum of zero to one (0-1) year of clinical OT experience in inpatient and outpatient services (therapy school experience acceptable).
- Must have forty (40) hours of AZ Burn Center orientation with burn occupational therapist(s), or have at least 1 year of burn experience within the last 5 years.
Specialized Training:
- None
Certification/Licensure:
- A current or temporary Arizona state Occupational Therapy licensure is required.
- Requires BLS. A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center is preferred and will be required within 3 months.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills both verbally and in writing including knowledge of basic grammar, spelling & punctuation.
- Requires the ability to read, write and speak effectively in English.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with patients and staff members.
- Requires excellent organizational skills, the ability to work with professionals, and maintain confidentiality standards.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to meet designated deadlines is required.
