Position Summary

Zachry Construction is looking for a GPS Motor Grader Operator – Fine Grade.

What You'll Do

• Conduct pre-start visual walk-around inspections and monitor all engine gauges for proper operation
• Operate the motor grader safely, utilizing automatic grade control systems/GPS as required
• Read, interpret, and execute plan requirements and grade standards accurately
• Scrap, shape, blade, and level for various grades to fine-grade specifications, including shoulders and slopes
• Notify the supervisor if equipment needs service or repair and perform basic preventative maintenance as needed
• Understand production and quantity requirements and perform incidental work and duties as needed within other crafts
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor

What We're Looking For

• Three (3) to five (5) years or more of industry-related experience, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges
• Ability to operate motor graders and use GPS grade control systems effectively
• Physical ability to sit for extended periods and periodically climb up/down equipment using built-in access steps and hand bars
• Ability to frequently use hands to operate controls and maintain alertness to surrounding activities and moving equipment
• Physical ability to walk over ground terrain in varying weather conditions
• Strong understanding of fine grading operations and the ability to meet project specifications safely and efficiently
• Dependable, self-motivated, and task-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality
