The Grand Rapids Housing Commission (GRHC) administers affordable housing programs that serve low-income households in Kent and Ottawa County. The GRHC operates eight low-income housing developments and administers federal rental subsidy programs as well as a Rapid Re-Housing program. About the Role:

The Property Manager will manage the daily operations of a multi unit residential property portfolio within the affordable housing sector, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards. This role is pivotal in maintaining high occupancy rates, managing tenant relations, and ensuring the financial performance of the properties under management. The Property Manager will administer lease agreements, coordinate building maintenance, and collaborate with our resident services team to foster a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for residents while adhering to fair housing laws and real estate development best practices. In this role you will:

  • First and foremost, align with our mission as an organization
  • Bring 5+ years of experience, knowledge of fair housing, and preferably a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) to oversee daily operations of a multi unit residential property including lease administration, resident relations, and property maintenance needs
  • Use your leadership experience to manage site support staff, execute on property & asset management goals, and resolve tenant inquiries or concerns
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and negotiation skills to coordinate with vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality and cost-effective property maintenance.
  • Utilize Yardi Systems to maintain accurate records and streamline lease administration and financial reporting to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Have a a strong financial acumen with experience managing property budgets to monitor expenses, optimize property financial performance, and ensure compliance with regulations governing affordable housing and property management.
