About This Position
RN - FACU
Job Summary:
Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates patient/family/significant other’s needs and nursing care for patients. Provides growth and development assessment. Provides health educational needs for patients/family/significant others; LPN’s assist with providing education to patient/family/significant others; provides care under the direct supervision of a RN; manages patient care assignments; acts in a clinical leadership role for pediatrics; demonstrates professional/clinical competency; assists with patient care of all ages and performs other related duties; Performs a wide variety or patient care activities; is familiar with catheters, NG feeding tubes, ostomy, blood glucose, monitoring, oxygen therapy, wound therapy and IV therapy.
Education and Experience:
Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing; current and valid license with the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation; previous pediatric nursing preferred; one year acute care nursing experience preferred; Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Basic computer skills; good interpersonal communication skills; ability to work independently; ability to use proper body mechanics when lifting, pushing and pulling; motor coordination to work with equipment; ability to understand oral/written instructions and understanding of medical terminology.
