Description:
New Tech Global Staffing is currently seeking a Plant Manager for a client located in Houston, TX to join their team. This is a direct hire opportunity.
Pay: $85,000-110,000 DOE
Schedule: Monday through Friday, full-time
The Plant Manager will oversee daily operations of a commercial printing production facility. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for managing production schedules, personnel, equipment, and workflow to ensure high-quality output, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a problem-solving mindset, and deep knowledge of digital and screen printing processes.
Responsibilities:- Manage all aspects of plant operations including production, scheduling, maintenance, quality control, and safety.
- Lead and develop teams including press operators, bindery workers, shipping/receiving staff, and supervisors.
- Oversee job flow from prepress through printing and finishing to ensure timely completion and customer satisfaction.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as productivity, waste, downtime, and equipment utilization.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment in compliance with OSHA and company policies.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to meet delivery requirements.
- Manage budgets related to labor, materials, equipment maintenance, and operational costs.
- Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of printing equipment including screen/digital presses and bindery machines.
- Implement and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality standards, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in print manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of commercial printing processes (screen, digital, large format).
- Proven leadership and people management skills.
- Familiarity with production planning software and MIS systems.
- Ability to analyze data and apply lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Printing Management, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with color management systems, G7 certification, Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
