Job Description

Britton Lumber Company is looking for a boiler and kiln operator for our Bath, New Hampshire manufacturing facility. Britton Lumber was founded in 1946 and manufactures Eastern White Pine with its sawmill, dry kilns, boiler, and planer mill. We have a brand new combined heat and power plant with a 300hp, 300psi wood fired boiler and a 275kw backpressure steam turbine. We also operate a 200hp, 150psi backup wood fired boiler as well as a backup low pressure oil boiler. We currently operate 6 dry kilns with a 290,000 board foot total capacity. The ideal candidate will have experience operating a CHP plant and managing dry kilns.

This is a full time job with rotating on call hours.

Job Responsibilities:

Perform daily boiler and kiln checks

Perform routine maintenance on boilers, kilns, and fuel handling

Monitor safety equipment

Work with other boiler/kiln operators

Other responsibilities as needed

Job skills and requirements

Minimum 5 years experience working in a steam plant and/or with dry kilns

Detail oriented and highly safety conscious

Knowledge of PLC based control systems

Salary is based on experience
