The Material Handler is responsible for managing the flow of materials and finished parts between internal processes and customer shipments. The role focuses on preparing and shipping automotive components, including both imported parts from Japan and locally manufactured parts in Kansas.

Responsibilities:

For Japan-sourced parts:

  • Handle approximately 100–170 boxes per day, totaling up to 400 bags per shift during peak periods.
  • Stack and organize containers on pallets according to shipment requirements.
  • Verify and record shipping data in Microsoft Excel to ensure order accuracy and traceability.
  • Check that each shipment matches customer orders before release.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area following 5S/6S principles.

For Kansas-produced parts:

  • Operate and monitor the image inspection machine by placing parts on the conveyor and collecting finished bags from the output.
  • Perform light adjustments and monitoring to keep the inspection machine running smoothly.
  • Conduct simple quality checks on inspected parts.
  • Assist with packaging, labeling, and shipping preparation for outgoing products.

Future Development

  • In and after 2026, the role will gradually shift to focus primarily on image inspection machine operation and monitoring.
  • Employees who demonstrate strong performance, technical aptitude, and reliable data management skills may be considered for promotion and job title change to reflect advanced machine operation responsibilities.
Requirements:

Qualification:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing, shipping, or material handling preferred but not required.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (data entry, simple formulas, and tracking reports).
  • Strong attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-national team environment.
  • Dependable attendance and reliability.

Physical Qualification:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
