About This Position


This is a professional position responsible for serving as the primary contact for various areas of university compliance. Responsible for monitoring regulatory and legislative changes to assigned programs. Provides administrative support for the Title IX and Compliance offices. Works under general supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Reports to the Chief Compliance Officer.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree is required. Related experience may be substituted for required education on a basis set forth by the Department of Human Resources.

Two years of related experience is required. Program coordination or administration experience is required. Experience developing training materials and presenting training is required. Experience in higher education is preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Develops and implements compliance requirements for assigned programs, including but not limited to risk analysis, collaboration with campus partners, and assessment of results using systems and processes.
  2. Coordinates training and resources for assigned programs, to include developing materials, presenting training, and providing technical assistance to program participants.
  3. Monitors federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to various areas of university compliance, makes recommendations based on changes, and ensures implementation of approved recommendations.
  4. Manages software used for training and tracks training completion for reporting requirements.
  5. Monitors, tracks, investigates, and reports program incidents and ensures each case is managed effectively.
  6. Compiles compliance data and prepares various departmental, institutional, and system reports.
  7. Assists with budget reviews, reconciles accounts, and prepares financial reports.
  8. Assists with all departmental purchases, to include initiating and processing requisitions.
  9. Schedules and coordinates meetings and campus events for the department.
  10. Coordinates and provides oversight for travel.
  11. Maintains departmental records such as employee files, budgets, inventory, purchases, policies, and procedures.
  12. Monitors and updates departmental websites.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  1. Knowledge of, or the ability to learn, university policies and procedures.
  2. Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws, statutes, regulations, codes, and standards related to the area of responsibility.
  3. Skill in using computer applications including spreadsheet, database, and word processing software.
  4. Organizational skills in managing projects simultaneously while maintaining a satisfactory work product.
  5. Skill in public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and groups.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
  7. Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate programs.
  8. Ability to develop, interpret, and evaluate policies and procedures.
  9. Ability to identify and incorporate continuous changes in federal and state laws and regulations, ensuring university compliance.
  10. Ability to accurately prepare and maintain records, files, and reports.
  11. Ability to establish and maintain a good rapport with university faculty and staff, students, and the general public.
  12. Ability to set priorities and complete assignments on times.
  13. Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
  14. Ability to work with and maintain confidential information.
  15. Ability to learn office and university specific software.
