POSITION PROFILE

Position: Warehouse Shift Lead

Classification: Non-Exempt

Department: Operations

Reports To: Branch Manager

Job Summary:

Ensures efficient operations of the branch and is responsible for performing an array of duties such as receiving and processing incoming stock and materials, picking and filling orders from stock, packing and shipping orders, and managing, organizing, and retrieving stock and other items. The Warehouse Shift Lead will be the point of contact for the shift and will join our mission to “Make the Tech in the Truck More Efficient” and embrace our vision to “Enhance Lives Through Solutions.”

Essential Functions:

  • Manages warehouse inventory and maintains company database
  • Maintains responsibility for all tasks being completed for the shift
  • Communicates with shift activities and issues to branch manager
  • Supervises all shift employees
  • Coordinates schedules, time off, and maintains timecards
  • Receive and process incoming product shipments and unload delivery trucks
  • Ensures shipments are inspected and any damages are noted and documented
  • Initiates records as products enter and leave the warehouse through a computerized inventory control system
  • Stores products in proper locations
  • Receives, pulls, and adequately prepares all customer orders
  • Utilizes forklift, pallet jacks, and other equipment when needed to store or pull inventory
  • Monitors equipment to ensure safety and reports any issues to the supervisor
  • Helps load products on a delivery truck or for customer
  • Ensures the safety of the warehouse by keeptheing it clean and free of potential hazards
  • Assists with the training of new employees

  • Basic math skills to manage and maintain inventory
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers, co-workers, and stakeholders
  • Skill in using web-based tools to research products and information

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • Material handlers require certification and continuous training to operate heavy-lifting machinery like forklifts
  • Ability to be certified in forklift operation
  • Knowledge of HVAC products, concepts, and the industry as a whole (a plus)

Physical Demands:

  • Lifting, moving, and carrying up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Ability to climb stairs/ladders
  • Ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to push/pull inventory items
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, and occasionally crawl in confined spaces
