Biomedical Technician Renal Dialysis PRN at University Health System- San Antonio – San Antonio, Texas

POSITION SUMMARY/RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsible for Reverse Osmosis (RO)water systems, dialysate delivery systems, dialysis equipment maintenance and repairs, inventory controls and quality controls. Performs and completes assigned duties in a timely, efficient, and competent manner. Complies with University Health and department policies and regulations for proper use and care of equipment and supplies. Maintains good public and personnel working relations

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent experience is required. Two years of experience in preventive maintenance activities in a renal dialysis setting or dialysis technician or medical experience desired. National Certification through BONENT or NANT preferred. Successful completion of the facility’s orientation and biomedical technician training. Completion of training course for dialysis equipment maintenance and repair, course specific to water treatment and distribution systems, dialysate preparation and related tasks prior to initial assumption of responsibility.
