Job Description
Five ambulatory oncology infusion rooms located in the Portland metro area. Chair/bed number ranges from 15-18 depending on site. Provide care to both Oncology and non-Oncology patients. Open 7 days a week including holidays and weekends.
Department Specific Working Conditions:
- Shared and collaborative infusion space.
- Ability to alternate between various work sites, depending on the practices’ space allocation, division of daily work activities, etc.
- Rotate into other assignments (conditional based on appropriate training) such as infusion referrals, triage and charge nurse
Responsibilities
Department Specific Requirements (competencies, equipment, certifications, etc.):
• At least two years of RN experience at time of hire.
• Completion of ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy administration certification during orientation.
• Communication skills including fluency in oral and written English.
• Navigate information technology associated with the position.
• Use Electronic Health Record information and associated tools.
• Record, track and assign duties and processes to ensure appropriate billing and revenue generation, when applicable.
• Facilitate care coordination with other providers and services to complement ambulatory Oncology care and meet holistic needs of the patient and family.
• IV access proficiency. Experience working with Central Lines, Port-a-cath. Experience handling and administering hazardous medications.
Qualifications- ONS Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card
- At least year of experience working in Adult ambulatory Hematology/Oncology in the last five years.
- At least one year of experience working in inpatient Oncology in the last five years
