Job Summary
Responsible for providing and maintaining a safe area for aquatic activity during hours that require a lifeguard on duty. Job Responsibilities
- Responsible for the prevention of incidents, responding to emergencies, and enforcing facility rules related to aquatic area.
- Enforces the facility and pool rules.
- Assists with keeping aquatic area clean and safe every shift that is worked.
- Ensures supplies are maintained in the department.
- Alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics regarding functionality and/or availability of equipment.
- Completes incident reports when incidents occur and alerts fitness supervisor or manager of aquatics.
- High school diploma, General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or higher preferred
- No experience required
- Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross required upon hire OR
- Lifeguard certification from Young Men's Christian Association (YMCA) required upon hire OR
- Lifeguard certification from Ellis and Associates required upon hire
- Requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
- Works under minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
