The staff RN is a professional care giver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial, and human resources within the philosophy of the institution. A nursing degree is required, as is current licensure in the state of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse or license pending. Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Suppor certification within 1 year of hire is required. Basic Life Support certification within 3 months is required. Previous staff nurse experience is preferred.
