Service Driver in San Diego, California at National Air Inc

Job Summary: Responsible for picking up, delivering, and properly storing parts in designated areas. Maintain accurate order documentation and coordinate closely with the Purchasing Agent and Service Manager to ensure efficient workflow and inventory management.

Essential Functions:

1. Adhere to all safety standards and exhibit a high regard to safety at all times
2. Drive in a safe, responsible, and respectable manner at all times; ensure that all loads are properly secured and safe
3. Pickup all daily orders for the Service Department’s operations from supply houses and equipment vendors
4. Deliver parts to service job locations in a safe, timely, and efficient manner
5. Assist Technicians with getting material and equipment to its required location
6. Upon receiving the daily schedule of pickups, adhere to the instructed timeline for the pickups as well as organize the route to ensure maximum efficiency
7. Follow the filing system developed by the Service Department for pick up documentation and record keeping
8. Track and manage all receipts and paperwork associated with orders; ensure the proper delivery to the designated staff
9. Ensure the filter stock and parts areas are well organized; inform the Service Team when supplies are running low to ensure there is always sufficient stock
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and surrounding areas
11. Assist with routine vehicle maintenance and the cleaning of company vehicles
12. Perform additional duties as assigned to allow for the proper support of the Service Team
13. Complete material haul offs and trash outs following the completion of service projects
14. Load and unload trucks using a forklift
15. Inspect all shop tools and equipment for proper operation and damage upon return to the yard and delivery to new projects
16. Fill in as backup delivery driver for the Construction Department
17. Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:

Minimum Education: High School Diploma

Minimum Experience: 1+ years warehousing experience

Skills Required:

• Current and valid forklift license and certification
• Valid California driver’s license with less than 4 points
• Maintain a courteous and professional demeanor while interacting with Technicians, customers, co-workers, and vendors
• Ability to safely operate power tools
• Working knowledge of HVAC-related material and equipment
• Understanding of HVAC service terminology and practices
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors on a daily basis and lift in excess of 50 lbs
• Frequent standing and bending
• This job is primarily assigned to an outdoor environment with occasional high noise levels, and uncontrolled temperatures
