Job Description
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The position of Controller is responsible for the accounting operations of the company, to include the production of periodic financial reports, cash management, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, utilizing a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company's reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION:
Determine depreciation rates to apply to capitalized items, and advise management on actions regarding the purchase, lease, or disposal of such items.
Prepare financial information so that DKM tax department can complete tax returns.
Prepare or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, annual budgets, and/or reports required by regulatory agencies.
Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, payroll, and budgeting duties.
Delegate authority for the receipt, disbursement, banking, protection, and custody of funds
Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures, federal and state policies and directives, and current accounting standards.
Conduct or coordinate audits of company accounts and financial transactions to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes.
Authorize disbursements in accordance with policies and procedures.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of accounting and other financial staff
Coordinate and direct the financial planning and budgeting activities of the organization.
Develop internal control policies, guidelines, and procedures for activities such as budget administration, cash and credit management, and accounting.
Analyze the financial details of past, present, and expected operations in order to identify development opportunities and areas where improvement is needed.
Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and actions.
Provide direction and assistance regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.
Lead staff training and development in budgeting and financial management areas.
Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Prepare 5 year business plan - annually
Prepare quarterly frozen forecasts
Month-end reporting and Month-end closing
Monthly President's report
Quarter reviews
Cash forecasting - weekly
Weekly parent company (DKM) lender reporting
Year-end financial reporting
Monthly borrowing base report
Responsible for Quarterly Audits and compliance
Daily Purchase Order approval
Inventory management – monthly

Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration and 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in related field
